Programme (provisional)

The Summer School “Quantification, Gender and Sexuality” is a training programme in statistical analysis for PhD candidates and Master’s students whose research focuses on gender and/or sexuality. It aims to provide an introduction to R while offering space for critical reflection on quantitative approaches in the social sciences.

No prior knowledge is required. The programme is primarily intended for participants with little or no experience in statistical analysis who wish to incorporate quantitative data into their thesis or dissertation.

The school is structured around two complementary components: an intensive hands-on training in R based on the Envie survey, and a thematic component (lectures, methods, and discussion of participants’ research projects).

The summer school is part of an open science approach: participants will work with a pedagogical version of the Envie survey, accompanied by full documentation and reproducible scripts.
